Forged in sets of linked pairs from an ingot of bronze, these rings of dwarven craftsmanship symbolically and magically bind couples in marriage, a practice that has begun to spread beyond dwarven strongholds, and even the race itself. A pair of these rings, one forged of copper, the other of tin, are emblazoned each with half of a different family crest, symbolizing the families' union, or half of the same faceted gem symbol of Dumathor, to symbolize how the couple completes each other. Both rings are inscribed with dwarven runes.
This particualr pair was discovered on the bodies of two Sea Spawn in Novas Arule. Originally worn by the twins, Aella and Mariana, they stopped after the Tempest Queen took over Aella's body for the first time and she removed the ring to hurt Mariana.
Quill and Mist then wore them due to their close bond, and Quill kept the rings after Mist's death. When asked by Aella, he was more than willing to part with them and suggested they should be worn by "people with a connection."
Aella then offered the tin ring to Aster, which they happily accepted with a kiss as the crowd, misunderstanding the interaction, applauded.
