Aella, Maeve, Aster, Meph, and Dorian are led to their temporary housing in chains while their lodgings are being built. Lya and Quill reunite, and Quill tracks a guard bringing Aella's chain to her. They share a conversation about whether to leave or stay, and neither is able to convince the other to change their mind. As a last ditch effort, Aella attempts to knock Quill out with her chain, which he easily dodges as he is teleported back to the Armide. Lya, Reldan, and the Emissary officially choose to stay in the town. Meanwhile, Maeve's new abilities get the better of her as her hair alights in purple flame and she runs out of her room which she set on fire. Quill, Yaro, Clares, and the rest of the Reavers who decided to leave board the new Armide conjured from the ship-in-a-bottle, and it takes off.
