The rest of the party wakes up to a petrified Orchestra and several living statues surrounding them. Aster, Mist, and Quill become petrified by their attacks. The remaining party defeats the statues and enters the building where they came from. Mariana finds obsidian skulls that whisper to its wielder. Going into another building, they find sealed jars filled with white ointment that might be used to heal people. Other items found are a wizard's spellbook, a magical crystal, and a tiara with amethysts. Aella puts on the tiara and begins acting different, more calmly, saying that the tiara expanded her mind to be able to understand things better. In this state, she notes the crystal as the most dangerous thing here.

• Daisy Daisy can see 3 statues and orchestra in statue, apparently if they touch you, you get petrified, could be due to the black ooze on their hands
• The staue behind orchestra looks like an older man with facial hair with a hand on orchestra’s shoulder, there is another statue  standing across from the fire and a third one is approaching the center of the group
• The one nearest to Mariana is the one by Orchestra, she hexes it. 11 doesn’t hit, its a very hard to hit creature, she is going to move to Aella to protect her
• Mist toppled the statue(an elf statue) by Astraea and it cracked and started to move to its hands and knees and reach out to Astraea and it petrified them
• The statue(a gnome) on the far side of the fire also started forming cracks and it starts walking towards Daisy Daisy. It is not moving quickly while we look at it but we probably shouldn’t stop looking at them
• Daisy Daisy gets attacked by 2, resists petrification just barely
• There is another one by Mist now
• There are 4
• Another statue, young woman maybe with horns, though it is hard to see under the stone hat. It got hit by eldritch blast and its head got smashed, but it still stands, almost done with though
• Mist attacked the one that grabbed her neck then tried to step back, it twisted 180 and grabbed Mist’s face, she became petrified and toppled to the sand
• A chunk of obsidian fell out of the one the Mariana, Mariana is trying to aim at the obsidian chunks now since she knows where they are located
• There is only one left, Quill is a statue now too, it is crawling towards Rey because it has no legs
• 5 people alive/not petrified: Daisy Daisy, Mariana, Rey, Ullanor, Aella(asleep)
• Daisy Daisy is going back to bed
• This is a universe where they are staying statues until we get greater restoration or figure out some other way to unpetrify them
• They are moving the statues to a better area
• If we get unpetrified the petrified peoples experience will match with the rest of the party again
• Mariana thinks there might be a cure in one of the buildings, Rey mentions that one of the statues came from a building
• Rey, Mariana and Ullanor are going into the building that Rey saw the first statue from
  • The largest building
  • Looks like it was probably built before the kiln
  • Looks like it may have been a hospital, it is one large room, there are a bunch of cots, some seem to have been crushed or something
  • Searching through to try to find something that might help people find how to unpetrify friends
  • It seems like how to fix the statues is unknown to the people that were here last
  • Pulling back a frame where a mirror would have been reveals a cabinet like are where they probably kept their medicine. Inside are like 5 dusty vials and 2 dusty medicine packs. They take them
• Mariana goes back to her bag to pour over her notes to see if there was anything in there for any reason
  • She found notes on Cockatrice-petrification by bite
  • Some other myths of other people benig able to petrify
  • She now knows that there is no fix except for greater restoration
• They are going to wait to explore the other buildings until Aella is awake 
• Mariana us going to  do her makeup, wash her hair and make herself presentable
• Mariana checked on Rey a bit
• About a fist sized chunk of obsidian shaped like a humanoid skull, is what came from the statues, they aren’t full size, they are like gnome and halfling size
  • If it is carved, it is well carved but it could also just be a skull that was turned into obsidian 
  • All four had them, they aren’t the same shape but they are roughly the same size, the skulls are not the right size, they are smaller than a typical skull would be
  • The skulls were not in the head, they were in the chest cavity
  • Mariana is going to try to arcana them to see if she recognizes a spell that they might have been used in, she has no idea what they are. As she studies it, she slowly starts to hear whispers, can’t make out what it is but she could sit for a while and learn ,more about then. 
  • They are all whispering, too faint to see if there were a difference in what they are saying, she could understand them if she sat with them for an hour
  • Mariana wants to wait until Aella scans them to see if it will kill her before she tries to fully understand them
• Aella wakes up and Mariana is explaining everything
• Mariana wants Aella to look at the skulls, she grabs one, flips it in the air to glance at it and as she studies it she also starts to hear whispers
• Ritual casting detect magic to learn about the skulls
  • Mariana is using shape water to fix Aella’s hair while she casts the spell
  • It feels wrong, not wrong like the menagerie, moreso wrong like unnatural, someone used magic that is anathema to the correct flow of nature. It vaguely resembles a weird mix of transmutation, necromancy and divination maybe, otherwise, its definitely magical.
  • There is also magic in the package Rey picked up
  • Inside the package is 1 jar that has some sort of magical trace, another small package, and 3 vials
  • Starting with the twine package, it is illusion magic, maybe its of elven origin. She takes a look in it, there is a fine red powder that immediately goes airborne, con saves. The sisters are incapacitated and suffocating, another con save, they were both able to be okay again, she tied it back up 
  • Two of the vials are most likely healing, red liquid that swirls through the via
  • 2 vials of purple, its the coffee shot thing
  • The jar is an ointment of some kind– jar with wax seal, it has white ointment in it, it might heal people
• There are 3 more buildings around the fire and 1 more on the outskirts
• Daisy Daisy is going to use on of the coffee potions so they are down to 2 levels of exhaustion now
• They are going to explore the one on the outside 
  • Low brick structure that smells of moss and powdered silver
  • It looks relatively intact, it looks like it is doing better than the other structures
  • There is an ambient aura of magic coming off of the building, it was probably a wizards atelier
  • Aella goes in first, It smells really weird,like all the spell components mixed together smells like
  • There is a work table with a bunch of stuff all over it, back wall seems to be the sleeping quarters. 
  • Mariana is checking to see if there is any obsidian around or chisels, maybe to suggest if the person who inhabited this did anything with the skulls
  • Mariana found a notebooks with a bunch of papers shoved into it, seems to be roughly a language she can understand and also not a language, it also just seems like bad handwriting
  • A lot of items are slightly enchanted here or there, the book is slightly magical but so is like the bed sheets so things are getting masked
  • Aella slaps Dasiy Daisy for calling her an idiot, she used her one free misty step, it rang out against their helmet

  • Mariana is trying to calm everyone down 
  • There are a few things that are pinging more than everything else
    • The book in Mariana’s hands, its a wizard spell book, a light dusting of every spell type, the raw potential of all spell types. Mariana opens to a loose sheet of note, looks like its on leylines of some sort.
      • Leylines are described as a winding set of rivers that arent water and span the world, regions where magic flows from an to
      • This is a diagram of where leylines are existent somewhere, its focused on one region, this map doesn’t seem to be of this area
    • A small vial, there is a clear fluid inside, on the back it says “knowledge, use only when needed”
    • A small metal stand which a yellow gem sits upon, there is specifically a light inside the gem that is pinging, conjuration, it is larger than the amulets space, it is pining more bright than the surrounding area. Something about the light inside. Outside is abjuration but inside is conjuration so it is probably a shield of somesort holding something. 
      • Aella is taking a closer look at the gem after having put the tiara on. She wants to try to see if she can tell what is in the gem. She thinks that the stone and structure that it sits on is of dwarven creation. Also think that tha magic inside is not dwarven, it feels maybe elemental, something very base magic about it, something unchanging. 
      • They want to activate the gem and try to talk to whatever is inside first before immediately attacking it
      • They are taking it outside of the house by the base 
      • Trying to grab the gem. The crystal makes a noise and then glows. Aella touches it like 3 times but it doesn’t make the noise again
      • Aella removes it from the pedestal, with some fenagling, it comes loose, Aella is trying to talk with it in common, it doesn’t respond, Mariana talks in primordial but it doesn’t respond. 
    • A thin headband tiara thing is held on a peg against a wall above the headboard of the bed. It has pearls on it and dangling just above the nose if you were to put it on is a triangular amethyst. It is transmutation. Aella holding it is trying to learn more about it, making an arcana check. It might alter your mental state in someway. It messes with your mind somehow. Aella is putting it on
      • Aella face, confusion sets in for a secondthen stops, then says “ok, thats what it does” Mariana asked what it does, taking a very cautious approach to what we are about to see. “To put it into the simplest of words, it expands my mind to understand things better”
      • Mariana notices that Aella isn’t acting how she normally does
      • Aella says she is acting on a higher level then she used to be, Aella says she is not in danger and no one is in danger, the most dangerous thing is the gem
      • Aella says that the crown is not affecting her actions in anyway but that it is something that she is using for the time being
