In 2x15 "Unfamiliar Faces", the party met the Cthaeh. Mariana walked up to the tree and pulled the sending stone out of it, which it said was "a gift from Ashaksell." Upon identification, it at first seemed like a normal sending stone, but the spell could be pushed further to learn more information. Aster decided against it after hearing whispered warnings throughout their casting.

Ashaksell themself learned about the stone while the Reavers were on the floating island. They did not, in fact, give it to the Cthaeh. The Magi immediately teleported to its location and destroyed it.
