Appearance

Dorian is short, with porcelain skin painted with blue floral patterns. In place of hair, he has a flickering blue flame maintained by a innate magic. Parts of his face and hands are covered in cracks filled in with gold, similar to kintsugi. Dorian explained that such cracks are a result of injuries that have healed. In 2x3 "Mysterious Magics", Meph helped remove Dorian's outer layer, revealing that not only is Dorian's chest section almost completely made out of gold, with several injuries having extended deep enough to leave gold on his secondary layer.

Dorian prefers to dress formally. On his first apperance, he wore a dark grey suit and blue tie, and has been noted to carry a silk hankercheif despite having no use for it himself.

Aella

Although initially unsure of Aella, Dorian quickly assumed the role of a mentor. Dorian has expressed concern for Aella's wellbeing many times, and was saddened when he was not present for Aster and Aella's "wedding".

Aster

Dorian is generally protective of Aster, treating them as if he were their parent. He was saddened when he was not present for Aster and Aella's "wedding".

Prior to episode 7.11, Dorian generally had an amiable relationship with Lya, seeing her as a kindred spirit. Presently, however, Dorian distrusts Lya after her actions led to Yuldam's death.

Maeve

Dorian had offered advice to Maeve on occasion, but was never really close with her.

Meph

Dorian sees Meph as a good friend and has often confided in her. They bonded after their interactions with the Digit of Koaus, when Dorian shared with Meph his experience with loss and expressed remorse for his actions while handling the digit.

After the events following Aster's death, Dorian mentioned having experienced loss in his life, fingering a wedding ring worn around his neck on a chain. Later, while speaking with Maeve, Dorian revealed that he was previously married, calling his wife "my Bella". He described their initial romance, stating that she was infuriating at first, but eventually they softened towards each other. Later, when comforting Maeve, she asked whether he would love Bella again knowing that they would only have a short time together and he answered yes.

While arguing with Quill before Quill left with the armide, Dorian revealed that Bella had died only two weeks before he ended up in the sand.
